It’s an All Aussie Adventure this episode as we welcome Phil Walker-Harding to the show. Phil is the award-winning Sydney-based designer of games such as Sushi Go, Imhotep, Barenpark, and the soon-to-be-released Cloud City. Phil shares with us his experiences in the Australian board gaming industry, where the inspiration for some of his games comes from, how he approaches game design, and what games he might have on the horizon.
In our Sizzling Games segment, Jules has been protecting sheep in the Lowlands , Dan has been dealing with Campy Creatures, Phil likes his card games to be Spicy, and Steve has been getting back to basics with Onitama.
In our Boardgame Bracket we settle the fight between Everdell and Codenames, before setting up a new match-up with Champions of Midgard vs Spirit Island. It’s a spirited battle but there can only be one champion. Make sure you vote for your favourite on our socials to get it through to the next round!
Finally in Swear and Oath, has Jules bitten off more than he can chew with swearing to play Feudum? Will Dan ever play Teotihuacan, or will Loot of Lima steal the limelight? Can Steve get Mariposas to the table? OR will Phil honor his oath to the podcast Gods and play Trails of Tucana? Stay tuned… same BBQ time, same BBQ podcast.
Thanks again to Phil Walker-Harding for joining us on this episode. Follow along with Phil’s adventures on his Twitter
